Refund policy
Have an item to return? We’re here to help. Afritrail complies with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2002. This policy does not limit any legal rights you may have.
Which Items Can Be Returned?
You may return items if:
- You’ve changed your mind.
- The product is defective.
The procedure depends on your reason for return.
Returns Procedure: Changed Mind
Request a return
Email support@afritrailshop.co.za within 7 days of delivery.
Get return address
We’ll email you the warehouse address. You cover postage costs.
Pack your items
Use the original packaging and include your order number.
– If packaging is missing or items aren’t in resalable condition, a 40% handling fee applies.
Inspection & notification
Once we receive your return, we’ll inspect it (2–3 working days) and email you with approval, decline, or handling-fee details.
Refund or store credit
If approved, choose a cash refund or store credit. If declined, you can collect the item at your expense or request re-delivery (shipping paid by you).
Returns Procedure: Defective Products
Check warranty
If covered by the supplier’s warranty, contact them directly. Otherwise proceed.
Request a return
Email support@afritrailshop.co.za within 6 months of delivery.
Arrange collection
We’ll email you to confirm that our courier will collect the item.
Pack your items
Use the original packaging and include your order number.
Inspection & repairs
We inspect upon receipt (2–3 working days) and, if approved, send defective items to our suppliers for repair.
Repair timeline
Repairs take 14–21 working days. We’ll update you on any delays.
Return of repaired items
Once repaired, we’ll ship back to you at our expense and provide tracking.
Returns Terms & Conditions
We may reject a return if:
- The product isn’t in resalable condition.
- It’s returned after the 7-day window for “changed mind” returns.
- Items are missing from the return.
- An incorrect product is returned.
Rejected returns must be collected at your expense within 30 days or will be destroyed.
Refunds & Store Credit
- Store credit is issued immediately by email.
- Cash refunds can take up to 7 working days, depending on your bank.
- Refunds/credits equal the amount you paid for the product.
- Gift vouchers are re-credited for voucher purchases.
- You may not exchange products; you must return them for refund or credit.
If items meant for another retailer are returned to us in error, you may:
- Arrange collection at your cost (we’ll supply a reference number).
- Ask us to discard the items.
If uncollected after 30 days, we will dispose of them.
12-Month Warranty Details
Coverage
Faulty or defective items may be returned in original, intact packaging within 12 months of delivery.
Defective Product Definition
A product that fails due to manufacturing/design faults, making it unsafe or unfit for its intended use.
Exclusions
- Fair wear and tear
- Damage from fire, flood, or environmental factors
- Damage from misuse
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs
After 7-day returns window
You must explain how the defect occurred and how the product was used.
Unsure of warranty
